Daniel Kopecký

Dan studied English Philology and General Linguistics at Palacký University Olomouc, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in English Language. His research focuses on the phonetic aspects of second language acquisition, particularly on how speakers adapt their pronunciation to others. He’s interested in how this process is influenced, for example, by the perceived status of the speakers involved. At the Olomouc branch of SPEAKin Lab, he helps run the lab and collect data for research on language development in infants. Outside of research, he enjoys teaching and looking after his ever-growing collection of houseplants.
